Welcome to this New Year dawn that reflects the aspirations and progress of Vayalar, our beautiful backwater village. Every local self-government institution is committed to ensuring regional development and social justice through decentralized governance, thereby realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of Gram Swaraj. Our Grama Panchayat, too, can proudly claim to be moving ahead of its time on the fast track of development.
One of our foremost goals is to transform the Vayalar Family Health Centre into a Model Family Health Centre. The Family Health Centre serves as a vital support system for the common people of Vayalar. Therefore, it is our responsibility to safeguard the health and well-being of our community. A healthy life is the aspiration of every individual, and achieving this requires the collective efforts of healthcare workers and social activists.
Various developmental initiatives are already underway, including the activities of the Haritha Karma Sena, day-care facilities for the elderly, biodiversity conservation, water conservation, green islets (Pachathuruthu), natural gas projects, complete drinking water coverage, street lighting, electricity for all, increased employment opportunities for workers under the employment guarantee scheme, and women-friendly projects.
For the future, we must continue to advance through initiatives such as turf facilities for children, karate and yoga training programs, promoting at least one enterprise in every ward, expanding Kudumbashree activities to create more employment opportunities, and developing backwater tourism.
The progress and prosperity of the people of Vayalar remain our ultimate goal.
